For Until Death Do Us Part I began by completely unstitching my three-piece wedding suit. I used the resulting pieces as templates in order to create two exact replicas, one in natural burlap and one in poly-tarp material. I then composed a photograph in which two versions of myself are standing in a church, each wearing one of the two suits. The burlap and poly-tarp materials serve to represent two very different and seemingly mutually exclusive sides of my personality. Over the years I have learned to cope with such powerfully ambivalent forces, hence the photographic marriage of the two.
