This piece is intended as a polar opposite of one of Giuseppe Penone's works in progress began in 1968. While Penone's cast bronze hand has kept that one spot on the tree from growing over the past 40 years, my burlap hand will stretch and deteriorate and make no impact whatsoever on the growth of this Ginkgo tree.
