Ring
During my residency at the Vermont Studio Center in 2008 I managed to spontaneously create a work of art in a matter of minutes that had previously lay dormant in my sketchbook for years. While walking across the VSC bridge I noticed an old rusted steel ring submerged in the river. I climbed down into the water, retrieved the ring and placed it on a nearby moss-covered rock. The entire process took me about 5 minutes, but was one of the most artistically satisfying things I've ever done. The following day a heavy rainfall washed the ring downstream.
